Calgary, AB (PRWEB) June 22, 2006 — Replicon, Inc., the corporate time and expense tracking vendor of choice for businesses, today announced that Team Replicon raised $4607.80 for the Easter Seals 24-Hour Relay, ranking third in the corporate category. The relay took place on Saturday, June 10 at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

With clouds rolling in on the morning of June 10, Team Replicon braved the storm alongside 20 other companies, including Bantrel, Century 21, Best Buy and Labatt. Running and walking—sometimes the whole team and other times spelling each other off—team members circled around the Olympic track for a continuous 24 hours to raise money and awareness for Calgary’s Easter Seals. Team Replicon ran, jogged, and walked 42 kilometers (km) – equivalent to a marathon.

“It was important to me to raise money for children with special needs and to support Team Replicon,” said Beka Spencer, Human Resources Administrator and relay participant for Replicon, Inc. “I realized I could support my company, friends and teammates while making a difference.”

Before the relay, Team Replicon raised $1,885.40. Replicon, Inc. generously matched this total. At the relay, Team Replicon added another $1,000.00 to their fundraising total by winning the Money Mart Dash for Cash draw. Money Mart donated $1,000.00 to Easter Seals on behalf of Replicon, raising Team Replicon’s grand total to $4,607.80.

“I love the camaraderie that instantly occurred between the team members,” said Faith Denton, Executive Assistant and relay participant for Replicon, Inc. “It was a successful event fostering a spirit of giving in 24 hours of wacky activities, friendly competition and good, clean fun.”

Last year, more than 69 corporations and recreational teams province-wide participated in the 24-hour relay and raised over $263,000. To date, the Alberta Easter Seals division has raised more than $7.2 million for children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities.

“We believe community comes first,” said Raj Narayanaswamy, co-founder and co-CEO of Replicon, Inc. “Replicon supports and recognizes its employees for their efforts as community ambassadors. We are extremely proud of Team Replicon’s accomplishment in this year’s Easter Seals Relay.”
