Time and Attendance Platform Banks on Face ID Excitement

Time and attendance tracking solutions provider Replicon has added facial recognition to its platform. The new functionality is aimed at allowing end user employees to simply walk up to a time clock in order to punch in or out, making time and attendance tracking more convenient while also eliminating the potential for fraud based on buddy punching.

Such functionality also extends to the iPhone X and its Face ID infrared facial recognition system. Using Replicon’s mobile timesheet app, iPhone X owners can punch in and out just by looking at their devices.

Of course, with many analysts now suspecting that the iPhone X made a relatively poor sales performance after its initial launch success, the Face ID feature won’t necessarily be available to many end users of the Replicon app. Fortunately, the app supports Touch ID authentication as well, letting users biometrically punch in and out for work with a fingerprint scan on iPhone devices other than the iPhone X.

While biometric time and attendance tracking solutions are increasingly common, this chatbot feature, together with the iPhone authentication support, could help Replicon’s solutions to stand out.
