Increased Partner Leave on Childbirth
Effective January 1, 2019, partner leave on childbirth has been extended to 5 days from 2 days of full pay, to be taken within four weeks. Also, entitlement to supplementary partner leave of 5 weeks will be introduced. This leave must be taken in the first 6 months after the childbirth. During the leave period, employees will receive an allowance from the Labour Office which will be 70% of the maximum daily wage.
Increased Adoption/Foster Care Leave
The Adoption/ Foster Care Leave will also be extended from 4 weeks to 6 weeks. Employees using leaves are eligible to receive a benefit equal to 100% of the daily wage.
