Scenario:
A timesheet approver is using Internet Explorer to access the Web TimeSheet application. While approving a timesheet the approval comments box appears and the application immediately redirects the user to the Web TimeSheet log in page.

Cause:
This is usually a browser related issue, noticed mostly in Internet Explorer.

Resolution:
Follow these steps listed below to resolve this issue.

Step 1:

  • Enable secure browsing in the Web TimeSheet application:
  • Log into the Web TimeSheet as an Administrator.
  • Click the Administration tab from the top menu.
  • Select System Preferences in the System section of the left menu.
  • Under the General tab locate Use Secure Browser Connections (https).
  • Enable it, by placing a check mark in the box beside it, if it is not enabled already.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the page, if any changes are made.

Step 2:

  • Clear the cache and cookies in the Internet Explorer web browser:
  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Select Tools from the top Menu Bar of Internet Explorer, located just below the Address Bar.
  • Select Internet Options in the drop down menu.
  • In the Internet Options window locate Browsing History section under the General tab
  • Click the Delete button.
  • In the Delete Browsing History window select the options Temporary Internet files, Cookies and History.
  • Click OK.

Step 3:

Add the Replicon Web TimeSheet website to the compatibility view settings. The steps to add the website to the compatibility view settings are as follows:

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Log into Web TimeSheet.
  • Select Tools from the top Menu Bar of Internet Explorer, located just below the Address Bar.
  • Select Compatibility View Settings in the drop down menu.
  • In the Compatibility View Settings window, the Replicon Web TimeSheet URL will be displayed in the Add this website field.
  • Select Add to move the Replicon Web TimeSheet URL to the Websites you've added to Compatibility View section.
  • Click on Close.

Step 4:

The Replicon Web TimeSheet URL needs to be added to the trusted sites zone and the settings in the trusted sites zone needs to be changed:

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Log into Web TimeSheet.
  • Select Tools from the top Menu Bar of Internet Explorer, located just below the Address Bar.
  • Select the Security tab in the Internet Options window.
  • Click on the Trusted Sites icon in the zone selection section, to view or change security settings.
  • Select Sites.
  • The Web TimeSheet URL will be displayed in the Add this website to the zone section.
  • Select Add in order to move the Web TimeSheet URL to the Websites section.
  • When done click on Close.
  • Under the Security tab select Custom Level.
  • In the Security Settings – Trusted Sites window scroll down to the Miscellaneous section and enable Access data sources across domains.
  • In the same window scroll down to the User Authentication section and enable Automatic logon with current username and password.
  • Click on OK in the Security Settings – Trusted Sites window and then select OK in the Internet Options window.

Step 5:

The Privacy settings need to be changed in the Internet Options window:

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Select Tools from the top Menu Bar of Internet Explorer, located just below the Address Bar.
  • Select the Privacy tab in the Internet Options window.
  • Click on Advanced in the Settings section.
  • In the Advanced Privacy Settings window enable the option Override automatic cookie handling and also enable Always allow session cookies.
  • Click on OK in the Advanced Privacy Settings window.
  • Select OK in the Internet Options window.
