The routine of clocking-in is about to be brought up-to-date, thanks to cloud computing. While the daily ‘ching’ of the clock has been part of factory lore for decades, the routine is finally being brought into the 21st century.
Canadian company Replicon has introduced a cloud-based time clock that it claims will eliminate some of the management hassles of traditional time clocks.
The Replicon CloudClock allows employers to instantly validate time clock punches, while ensuring that time and attendance records are accurate. The device enables managers to keep track of workers in real-time and integrates with payroll records to ensure that details are kept up-to-date.
“Today many companies are supplementing their workforce with additional hourly employees, requiring more overtime from existing employees and running multiple shifts each day, which makes it difficult to effectively manage time and attendance,” said Lakshmi Raj, co-founder and co-CEO of Replicon. “By leveraging the power of the cloud for time tracking with its easy-to-use and fully integrated CloudClock, Replicon is helping businesses of all sizes to collect employee time in a hassle-free manner, improve compliance and stay on budget.”
Replicon said that the wireless CloudClock was more accurate, registered less downtime and negated the need for costly maintenance. The company also claimed that its CloudClock registered many fewer errors,
The company found that more employees were working overtime, ensuring a growing need for more accurate information. According to the latest Replicon Productivity Index, weekly overtime hours have increased 58 percent.
