FAQs about report columns

This page answers common questions customers have about report columns, also known as fields, in Replicon. For more information on report fields, refer to How report fields work.

Are only submitted or approved hours included in hours and expense column values?

All hours saved in timesheets and expense sheets are included in those columns, and in columns calculated using those values.

However, many reports also include an Approval Status filter you can use to view or exclude items of each status.

You can also use the following fields, available in some reports, to view data from timesheets that haven’t been submitted or are awaiting approval:

  • Not Submitted Hours
  • Not Submitted Billing Amount
  • Not Approved Hours
  • Not Approved Billing Amount

What does (BC) beside a column name mean?

This means the value displayed is given in your system's base currency.

What currency do items show in if they don’t have (Project Currency), (Client Currency) or (Base Currency) beside them?

Currency fields without brackets show in the currency the amount was entered in.

What do the (Selected Dates) and (All Dates) options available for some columns mean?

In fields with Selected Dates in brackets, data shows for:

  • The entry date shown in that row, or
  • The date range selected using the Date Range filter

If the field has All Dates in brackets, all data for the user and project (if applicable) shows.

What do Week, Month, QuarterYear, Week Start Date, and Week End Date, as in the Week (Date) field?

These fields break down the date in question into its component parts, and may be useful for filtering or sorting data, or when creating custom columns based on formulas.

  • Quarter shows the quarter (Q1-Q4) the date falls within
  • Week shows the week the date falls within (e.g. Week 39)
  • Day shows the day of the month (e.g. 2 for Dec 2) the date falls within

Why isn’t a column I see in a report listed in the Reports Field Matrix?

The column is most likely derived from a custom column based on a formula that someone in your organization created.

The templates that include custom columns are listed in Replicon's Reports Field Matrix – look for the Custom Field For… rows.

Why do duplicate rows sometimes display in reports?

In most reports, values for a key field are never summed, even if you haven't selected that field to display in the report. Key fields include things like Project, User, Client, Program, Entry Date, Activity, and Billing Rate.

So, for example, a row for user Jane Bennet for the June 30th entry date might display twice if she entered hours against two different billing rates on that day, even if the Billing Rate column doesn't display.
