How do I clear my browser's cache?

Polaris is updated with new features and fixes on a regular basis. To ensure you’re always seeing the latest Polaris functionality, you may occasionally need to clear your browser’s cache (temporary Internet files) – especially if you don’t log out of the application each day.

To clear your browser's cache, follow the appropriate procedure listed below.

Remember that if you clear your cookies, any login credentials saved in the browser will be lost.

It is typically a good idea to close your browser and relaunch after clearing your cache.

Internet Explorer 10.x, 11.x (Win)

  1. Click the  icon in the browser’s toolbar, or type Alt-X.
  2. Select Safety > Delete browsing history...
  3. In the window that displays, ensure these check boxes are selected:
  • Temporary Internet files and website files
  • Cookies and website data

Be sure to deselect any other check boxes if you don’t want those items to be deleted.

  1. Click the Delete button.
  2. Click OK.

This message displays at the bottom of the browser when the cache is cleared:

Internet Explorer has finished deleting the selecting browsing history.

Firefox latest (Win and Mac)

  1. Click the  in the browser’s toolbar.
  2. Select History.
  3. Click Clear Recent History...*
  4. From the Time range to clear, select Everything.
  5. From the Details list, select Cache and Cookies.
  6. Click Clear Now.

*This option may be unclickable if, on the Options > Privacy page, you have Never remember history or Use custom settings for history > Always use private browsing mode enabled.

Chrome latest (Win and Mac)

  1. Click the  in the browser’s toolbar.
  2. Select More tools > Clear browsing data…
  3. In the window that displays, from the Clear the following items from drop-down list, select the the beginning of time option.
  4. Ensure these check boxes are selected:
  • Cached images and files
  • Cookies and other site data 

Be sure to deselect any other check boxes if you don’t want those items to be deleted.

  1. Click Clear Browsing Data.

Safari latest (Mac)

  1. From the top menu, click Safari > Preferences...
  2. In the window that displays, select the Advanced tab.
  3. Select the Show Develop menu in menu bar check box.
  4. From the top menu, select Develop > Empty Caches.
