ASP Hosted (vs. true cloud)

ASP Hosted is a software delivery method by which software vendors host their applications and allow access to customers via the Internet. However, because every customer is typically hosted on a separate instance of the application with different code bases, this approach is not considered a true SaaS delivery model. True Cloud or real SaaS vendors support a single codebase across all customers (also known as multi-tenancy). By having all customers on the same codebase, this approach allows vendors to innovate much more quickly by releasing enhancements to all customers simultaneously
