You may be able to appoint co-managers to your projects, clients, or programs. Co-managers can access project data, and can manage projects when you’re unavailable.
Any project manager can be appointed to co-manage a project, any client manager can co-manage a client, and any program manager can co-manage a program.
To assign a co-manager:
A dialog displays.
The selected user will display in the Co-Managers list.
Be sure to click Add once you’ve selected a manager, or your selection will not be saved.
A co-manager’s level of access is determined by their permissions; they are allowed the same level of access to projects they co-manage as they have to their own projects (that is, projects for whom they are assigned project manager).
For example, if a user can view billing information for all projects they manage, they will be able to view billing information for any projects you appoint them to co-manage.
Because a co-manager’s access is limited by their own permissions and not yours, it is possible they will have greater access to data for an item than you do. For example, they may be able to see billing information for one of your clients even if you cannot.
You may only have permission to assign co-managers to some of the items you can view (for example, only your projects or only your project’s clients).
Co-managers do not have approval permissions by default, but they can be set up as a substitute user to give them approval rights.
