The City of Berkeley passed an ordinance that amends its current minimum wage law effective today, October 1, 2018.
The new ordinance increases Berkeley’s minimum wage from $13.25 as on October 1, 2017, to $15 effective today, October 1, 2018.
Youth Worker’s Minimum Wage
For the Employer Youth Works and for job training participants up to 25 years of age in youth job training programs operated by a Nonprofit Corporation or a governmental entity, the minimum wage has increased to $13.25 effective today, October 1, 2018, starting July 1, 2019 and on every July 1 thereafter, the Minimum Wage shall be increased by $1.25 per hour until it is equal to the Minimum Wage paid by all other Employers.
