If you are creating a Timesheet Period condition, you can choose to create either a fixed rule or a custom formula.

In a custom formula, the maximum or minimum hours a user must enter in their timesheet is based on a formula that includes their total weekdays, work days, weekly days off, and/or holidays in the timesheet period. Therefore, the maximum or minimum value may change from one timesheet period to the next, and from one user to the next.

To create a custom Timesheet Period condition:
Select the + icon. The formula edit field will display.
Enter a formula by adding fields and operators (for example, +, -, *, and /).

[Refer the attached document to find the Fields you may use to create a custom formula.]

You can add fields by typing their names into the formula field or by placing your cursor in the position where you would like the field to display, and clicking the field name.

The next step would be to associate this validation rule to the User.

  • Select 'Administration' from the top menu.
  • From the side menu, under Shortcuts, click on Users
  • Now, edit the user profile (who needs to be configured with the Validation rule created in the system)
  • Click Advanced.
  • In the Other section, go to Timesheet Validation Rule.
  • Click on Add Validation Rule.
  • Enter the Start and the End date which is optional.
  • Select the Timesheet Validation Rule from the drop down.
  • Click Done.
  • Click Save.
