Scenario:
If an employee type is assigned to a user in Web TimeSheet, the system will not allow you to delete the employee type. In order to delete the employee type, it is imperative that no user in Web TimeSheet (Active/Inactive) should have that particular employee type added to their profile. Please make sure that even the Inactive/Disabled users don't have the employee type added in their profile.

You can verify a user's Employee Type using the following steps:

  • Log into Web TimeSheet as a user with administrative rights.
  • Click on the Edit icon.
  • Click on the Advanced tab
  • Under the General category, the Employee Type will show the Employee Type associated to this user.

Once, it is confirmed that the Employee Type to be deleted is no longer associated with any employee (Active/Inactive), follow the below listed steps to delete the Employee Type:

  • Log into Web TimeSheet as a user with administrative privileges.
  • Click on 'System–>Administration. Select Users/Departments > Employee Types from the side menu.
  • Select the Employee Type to be deleted and click on the 'Delete' button at the bottom of the page. Else, you can click on the round red 'X' mark next to that Employee type and delete the Employee Type.
  • On the confirmation page, click Yes, if you are sure that the Employee Type needs to be deleted.
