Summary:
This article talks about the different scenarios when a user can use the Copy From button available on his timesheet.

The Copy From option works when you want to,

  • Copy data from Old timesheet to Current timesheet period.

    • ?This can be done, by saving the time / time off entries made in the Old timesheet, and then click on Copy From button in the Current timesheet period.
  • Copy data from Current timesheet to Old timesheet period.

    • ?This can be done, by saving the time / time off entries made in the Current timesheet, and then click on Copy From button in the Old timesheet period.

      • Note: This works for any older timesheet period regardless of other timesheet periods in between.
  • Copy data from Current timesheet to Future timesheet period.

    • This can be done, by saving the time / time off entries made in the Current timesheet, and then click on Copy From button in the Future timesheet period.

Copy From option does not work in the following scenarios:

Copying data from,
Future timesheet to Past timesheet period.
Future timesheet to Current timesheet period.
Past timesheet to a timesheet period that is older than the Past timesheet period.
Past timesheet to a Future timesheet period.

Note:
This can be copied indirectly,

Copy Past timesheet to Current timesheet period (provided no time / time off is entered on the current timesheet period)
Copy Current timesheet to Future timesheet period.

Note:
Copy From feature works with timesheet periods of same type.
Destination timesheet period to which data is copied to, will loose any information if present after the copy from and save.
Copy From does not copy Booked Time off data, but applies to Time entries and Time Off entries which are directly entered on the timesheet.
