Summary:
Department Rate option will be available in the Assign Rates page only if Departments are assigned to the project. In other words, department must be included Project Team section of the project. Once there are departments available in the Project Team section, individual department rates can be set for these departments.

When a new User is added to a project, only the Project Rate, User Rate and/or Role Rate can be applied to the user but not the Department Rate. So the Department Rate option will not be available when you add a User to the Project Team.

Resolution:

To assign a department to the Project perform the following steps:

  • Log into Web TimeSheet with administrative or Project Leader privileges.
  • Click on Projects tab.
  • Click on the Edit icon next to the desired Project to be edited.
  • Click on the Edit button in the Project Team section to view the Project Team.
  • Select a department under Available Project Team Members.
  • Click on >> button to transfer the department to the Project Team Members: (Repeat steps 5 and 6 for other departments to be added).
  • Click on Save.
  • Click on Save on the Projects screen.

To assign a department rate perform the following steps:

  • Log into Web TimeSheet with administrative or Project Leader privileges.
  • Click on Projects tab.
  • Click on the Edit icon next to the desired Project to be edited.
  • Click on the Book icon next to the department name.
  • Click on Assign Rates button.
  • Put a check mark next to Department Rate.
  • Click on Save button.
  • Click on Save after putting any initial value for the department rate.
  • Click on Close button.
  • Click on Save on the Project Screen.
