It is possible to create different timesheet format for users belonging to the same department. Timesheet format is permission driven, so what ever timesheet format has been set in the user's permission, is what the user(s) will see when they log into Web TimeSheet.

To assign a timesheet format to a user, please follow the steps below:

  • Log in to Web TimeSheet with administrative privileges.
  • Select the Administration icon from the top menu.
  • Click on Permissions on the left side menu, under the User/Departments category.
  • Edit the permission assigned to the department/user.
  • Expand the Timesheet option under the System tab.
  • In the Use Timesheet option, from the drop down choose the timesheet format you want the department/users to have access to.
  • Click on Save.

Once this is done, you will be redirected to the Permissions page. Assign this permission to the user(s) in that department. Create a new permission with exactly the same access rights, but now with a different timesheet format for the other set of user(s)/department. Please follow the steps below to create a new permission,

  • Log into Web TimeSheet with administrative privileges.
  • Select the Administration icon from the top menu.
  • Click on Permissions on the left side menu, under the User/Departments category.
  • Click on Add.
  • Provide a name, description and check the box for Enabled.
  • In the Based on drop down, select the Permission that was modified, so that the other user/department have the same access and permissions except for the timesheet format.
  • Expand the Timesheet option under the System tab.
  • In the Use Timesheet option, choose the timesheet format that you want the next group of users/department to have access to.
  • Click on Save
  • Assign this newly created permission to the relevant user(s).
