Hourly cost is the rate used to determine project costs for reporting purposes. Multiple hourly cost can be set up for a user at various intervals of time. However upon setting up the hourly cost and on saving the user profile, the following error message occurs,

"Hourly Cost must not have overlapping values"

This generally happens when there is more than one hourly cost set up with the same initial value for effective date. For example, if there is an hourly cost set up as $40 and effective from September 1, 2010, and there is another hourly cost added with the same date or a date previous to September 1, 2010, this error message comes up.

This overlap can be rectified by having different effective date initial values so that there is no overlap.
