Symptoms:
Users may get the following error message, when submitting expense sheets,

"You are not able to save an expense sheet with a project"

Cause:
Users' expense permission does not have the ability enter expenses or users do not have the Project and Billing license seat assigned to their user profile.

Resolution:
To enable ability to enter expenses on the expense sheet, follow the steps given below:

  • Log into Web TimeSheet with administrative rights.
  • Select Administration tab from the top menu bar.
  • Select Permissions from the left pane, under the Users/Departments.
  • Expand the Expenses category and change the drop-down Enter Expenses to < Both >.

Note:
The same error is seen when the user who is submitting the expense sheet does not have TimeAttend or TimeCost license seat enabled in his/her profile.  So make sure the TimeAttend or TimeCost license seat is enabled in the user profile.
