Scenario:
User has created multiple projects and time was being entered against those projects. Now the user wants to consolidate them, so that going forward users would enter the time against the new consolidated project rather than multiple projects. When running a report the old projects would show time and the user may want the old time entries/hours entered to show under the new project hence, users may want to import/export time from one project to another.

Resolution:
It is not possible to import/export time from one project to another. As a work around (For project reporting purpose only), recommend the user to create a new task under the new project and enter the time in bulk against the new task i.e., if the old project has 1000 Hrs entered against it, enter 1000 Hrs against the new task on a particular day and submit the same. To enter time in bulk, follow below the steps given below:
  • Create a new task under the new project.
  • Allow only the administrator to in the Allowed list.
  • Check the total number of hours entered against the old project by running a report.
  • Check the option Allow more than 24 hours per day in System Preferences.
  • Enter the total time against the task in the new project.
  • Save and Submit the timesheet.
  • Uncheck the option Allow more than 24 hours per day in System Preferences.
  • Now run the report for the new project. It will reflect the total hours.
