This can occur when your proxy settings are set to "Automatically detect." To change this setting, follow these steps (for Windows):

  • Go to the Tools tools menu menu.
  • Select Options.
  • Click the Under the Hood tab.
  • Click Change proxy settings.
  • Click LAN settings.
  • Deselect the "Automatically detect" checkbox.
  • Restart your computer.
