Time Off Start Date and Time Off End Date fields in a report based on Time Off details report are used to display the user’s time off start date and end date. If the user’s time off request spans multiple reporting periods (This happens when the Time Off Start Date and Time Off End Date fall in different reporting periods), the report will display the correct number of time off hours corresponding to the reporting period but will display the same Time Off Start Date and End Date for multiple reporting periods.
For example, A user books a time off from 01/31/2011 to 02/02/2011 (3 days or 24 hours assuming the user’s default hours per day is 8). When the report is run for the period 01/16/2011 to 01/31/2011, the report will display the number of units as 8 hours and the Time Off Start Date as 01/31/2011 and End Date as 02/02/2011. For the reporting period 02/01/2011 to 02/15/2011, the report will display the same Start and End dates but the number of units corresponding to this period will be 16 hours. In other words, the report can split the time off hours spanning multiple reporting periods.
