What is IP filtering?

IP filtering is simply a mechanism that decides which types of IP datagrams will be processed normally and which will be discarded. By discarded we mean that the datagram is deleted and completely ignored, as if it had never been received.

Scenario:
If the company wants to block the users from accessing Web Timesheet outside the office network, then it can be done using IP filtering in Web Timesheet.

Resolution:
To configure IP Filtering in Web TimeSheet, follow the steps given below:

  • Login as admin.
  • Click on Administration tab and then under System click on IP filtering.
  • Click on Add.
  • Enter the IP address range that you need to provide access Start IP Address and End IP Address. For example, if you want to provide access to only certain range like Start IP Address: 203.92.59.179 to End IP Address: 203.92.59.189.
  • Click on Save.
  • Select Enable IP Filtering.

Note: After enabling the IP Filtering and entering the IP range Web Timesheet will be accessible within the specified IP range.
