To apply this user defined fields to only designated users, follow the steps given below:

  • Click the Administration icon at the top menu bar.
  • Select 'Permissions' from the left panel, under the 'Users/Departments' category.
  • Click the 'Add' button at the bottom to add a new permission profile in Web TimeSheet.
  • Create this new permission based on the users' existing permission profile.
  • Before saving the new permission, expand the 'Timesheet' option on the permission by clicking the '+' symbol next to it.
  • Scroll down a bit and you would notice sub-permissions as "Timesheet Row User Defined Field #1".
  • Enable the relevant user defined fields for this permission.
  • Click Save at the bottom.
To assign the permission to the user or group of users, follow the steps given below:

  • Click the Administration icon at the top menu bar.
  • Select 'Users' from the left panel, under the 'Users/Departments' category.
  • Pick one user or a group of users from the 'List Users' section.
  • Click the 'Edit' button next to the user name or click the 'Edit' button at the bottom if multiple users are selected.
  • In the 'Access' tab, scroll down to the bottom.
  • Put a check mark next to the newly added permission profile and uncheck the default permission profile that was previously assigned to the user.
  • Click Save at the bottom.
Note: The user defined field is visible on the timesheet, only for the user to whom this new permission profile is assigned.
