How can the time off comments be made available only for specific users to view in reports?

If two users having identical permissions are running the same Time report, it is not possible to allow one user to be able to see the time off or timesheet comments while the other should not. The time off or timesheet comments or any particular field in reports cannot be set viewable or not viewable for specific permissions.

A permission can be modified to have the associated users not to have access to the report settings. To disable access to report settings, follow the steps given below:

  • Disable Edit Report Settings options in Reports category under the Reports tab of the permission.
  • Disable the Comments field for the reports accessible to the permission.

Thus the user with that specific permission can see the data of only the enabled fields. However, it is advised to create a new permission based on the existing permission and then make the changes to the new permission.
