Scenario:
The timesheet approver is unable to see time entries on the timesheets waiting for approval.

Cause:
This issue may occur if the approver does not have permission to view time information.

Resolution:
To check if permission is enabled:
  • Click Administration in the top menu, and then click Users/Departments > Permissions in the side menu.
  • Select the edit icon beside the approvers assigned permission profile (if they’re assigned multiple profiles, you may have to check them all – timesheet approval permission only needs to be enabled in one profile).
  • Expand the Approvals permissions section.
  • In the Timesheet > Time Information section, ensure Approve is checked (and Edit, if desired). (before changing settings, ensure you want all users assigned this permission profile to have the new permissions. If you don’t, create a new profile with the desired permissions enabled and assign it to the user)
  • If the approver is a project leader, and you want them to see timesheet data for all projects (not just the one/s they lead), check the View All option.
Note:
If you’ve changed settings, you must re-open and resubmit the timesheet before the approver can view the new data.
Approval permissions may be enabled within submitting user’s assigned timesheet approval path that override the approver’s own permissions.

To check if the permission is set to override in the Approver Types:
  • Click Administration in the top menu, and then click Users/Departments > Users in the side menu.
  • Click the edit icon next to the name of the user who submitted the timesheet.
  • When their profile displays, click the Advanced tab.
  • In the Approvals section, note what the 'Timesheet Approval Path' field is set to.
  • Select Approval Setup > Approval Path from the side menu
  • Click the edit icon next to the name of the user’s assigned approval path.
  • Check whether Override approver's permissions is enabled for the approval path, and if Approve & Edit permission is enabled for Time Information.
