To create an attendance rule:

  • Log into Web TimeSheet as an Administrator.
  • Select Administration from the top menu.
  • From the Cloud Clock Setup section in the side menu, select Attendance Rules.
  • Click Add Attendance Rule.
  • Name the rule.
  • Enable the types of rules you want to include by selecting the appropriate check boxes and define each enabled rule.
  • Click Save Attendance Rule.

Examples of Attendance Rules

Absence Rule Example:
Employee is absent if she punches in 2 hours 0 minutes after the scheduled shift starts.
If a user who is assigned this rule is scheduled to start work at 9:00 am, scans in at 11:01 am, the user will be considered absent. This would be flagged as a schedule violation.

Tardy (Late) Rule Example:
Employee is tardy if she punches in 0 hours 10 minutes after the scheduled shift starts
If a user who is assigned this rule is scheduled to start work at 9:00 am, and scans in at 9:11 am, the user will be considered late. This would be flagged as a schedule violation.

Early Out Rule Example:
Employee is early out if she punches in 0 hours 10 minutes before the scheduled shift ends
If a user who is assigned this rule is scheduled to end her shift at 5:00 pm, scans out at 4:49 pm, she would be considered early out. This would be flagged as a schedule violation.

Early In Rule Example:
Employee is early in if she punches in 0 hours 10 minutes before the scheduled shift starts.
If a user who is assigned this rule is scheduled to start work at 9:00 am, scans in at 8.49am, the user will be considered early in. This would be flagged as a schedule violation.
