How to create a validation rule to force the users to enter minimum hours in the timesheet?

A validation rule needs to be created that forces the users to enter a minimum of 40 hours for a week and any thing greater than 40 hours.


  • You will need to follow these steps in order to accomplish the above requirement:
  • Log into the Web TimeSheet as an Administrator.
  • Select the Administration tab.
  • Then select Validation Rules in the Timesheet Setup section.
  • Click on Add in the Edit Validation Rule page.
  • Provide a name for the validation rule in the Name field.
  • Make sure that Enabled has a check mark next to it.
  • Select Add in the Conditions section.
  • The Add New Condition Window pops up.
  • Select Week in the Condition drop down and Greater than or equal to in the drop down next to it.
  • Enter 40 Hours in the box next to the second drop down.
  • Then select OK and select Save in the Edit Validation Rule page.
