How to Disable or Un-install extensions in Google Chrome?

Find resources designed to help you get the most from Replicon

Browsers like Google Chrome come with extensions which are extra features and functionality that can be easily added. By using extensions, you can customize Google Chrome with features you like, while keeping your browser free of things that you don't use.

Not all browser extensions are secure. Sometimes they tend to bring down the functionality/performance of the browser when running web based applications like Web TimeSheet. Whenever there is a performance issue, it is suggested to disable or uninstall extensions and verify if there is any difference.

Uninstall extensions

Uninstall an extension to remove it completely from the browser:

  • Click the wrench icon wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
  • Click Tools.
  • Select Extensions.
  • Click Uninstall for the extension you'd like to completely remove.

You can also temporarily turn off an extension by disabling it on the Extensions page.

Temporarily disable extensions

  • Click the wrench icon wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
  • Select Tools.
  • Select Extensions.
  • On the Extensions page, click Disable for the extension you'd like to temporarily remove.

Go back to your list of extensions at any time to re-enable disabled extensions. You may need to refresh the page in order to use extensions you've re-enabled.
