The importance of securing time and attendance system

securing

In a recent incident in Connecticut, a Stamford city employee was found to have manipulated the time and attendance software system to favor another employee. This act was serious enough to warrant the employee being terminated from his job and a detailed review of the time and attendance software that was being used by the city’s payroll system was required.

In a world where online safety standards are repeatedly under threat, the key to a successful solution is to be uncompromising in safety and security. The biggest casualty is overpayment, which Replicon solutions rigorously guard against. In the Stamford case, the city stands to lose a significant amount of money in overpaid salaries. A manipulated timecard is a symptom of a fundamental flaw, which if not corrected, could result in the spread of related problems. As the city’s head of administration put it “You want to work in an environment where your systems give you every opportunity to succeed rather than the fear of who’s going to beat the system.”

With more than 1.5 million users in 70 countries, the Replicon name is synonymous with trust and security.Replicon’s cloud-based time and expense solutions, including TimeBill, TimeCost, TimeAttend, WebExpense, TimeOff and CloudClock, suit a variety of specific business needs. From large, multinational professional services organizations to IT/project oriented businesses, government and non-profit organizations Replicon offers a tailored, secure solution that effectively minimizes costs and maximizes efficiencies.

Further evidence of this is the fact that Replicon has repeatedly passed the SSAE16 SOC1 test (formerly known as a SAS 70 II audit), successfully. The SSAE 16 is conducted by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and defines the professional standards used by a service auditor to assess the internal controls of a service organization.

Replicon’s consistent investment in ensuring that the data of its customers is protected 24X7 is in itself a validation of the high standards it holds itself up to. Instilling customer confidence is the cornerstone of customer retention and that is the success mantra of Replicon.
