Debra Jackson, Vice President of human resources and support at TruStar Federal Credit Union, describes the challenges administrators and managers needed to overcome with their previous employee vacation scheduling tracking system.
“Requests weren’t always documented, resulting in incorrect data; we had to try and rely on internal emails such as ‘Deb J. is gone for the day” to make sure we then got a paper form that was approved by the manager,” explains Jackson. “Managers did not have access to their direct reports and time off status when they needed it. There was a lack of an easily accessed, up-to date calendar of current time off for approving requests and taking member service coverage into consideration.”
