Calgary AB — November 30, 2009 – Replicon, Inc. is pleased to announce its co-founder and co-CEO, Lakshmi Raj, has been named one of Canada’s most powerful women by the Women’s Executive Network.

Under Raj’s leadership, Replicon has become the world leader in web-based timesheet and expense management software, helping thousands of organizations operate more efficiently by streamlining their billing, project costing and time tracking into a single comprehensive solution. Replicon’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) products currently help reduce costs and maximize productivity for a broad spectrum of organizations in 60 countries across the globe.

“I want to thank the Women’s Executive Network for this prestigious recognition, and our many customers around the world for their continued support and feedback,” says Raj. “Our success is a direct result of the many talented, dedicated people at Replicon. They are the driving force of growth at this company, and this achievement is a clear reflection of their hard work and passion for constantly making our products more valuable and useful to our customers.”

This is the second year in a row Lakshmi Raj has been selected by the Women’s Executive Network, which establishes “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100” based on specific criteria, including: management role; vision and leadership; corporate performance; and community service. Women’s Executive Network is Canada’s most influential female audience and the country’s leading organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of executive-minded women in the workplace.

Since Lakshmi Raj co-founded Replicon in 1996, the company’s user-base has quickly grown to over 1.2 million, signifying the increasing demand for easy-to-use timesheet software and expense management tools. Replicon’s product suite enables organizations to create accurate project timelines and cost estimates; track progress in real-time; accurately bill clients; manage employee schedules; and automate payroll policies, among a host of other functions.

Raj has been instrumental to the company’s ardent focus on its customers, providing highly scalable solutions to suit the individual needs of every client.

Earlier this year, her hands-on approach and commitment to creating a positive work environment also enabled Replicon to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces by the Great Place to Work Institute of Canada.

“I believe in leading by example, to be heavily involved in all aspects of business operations,” says Raj. “As a leader, it’s my responsibility to help other women, to give them great projects, to mentor them and help drive their success. I can’t do that by sitting on the sidelines – I have to be willing to take risks, to share the mistakes as well as the rewards.”
