The 34th Annual American Payroll Association (APA) Congress is taking place next week, from May 10-14 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Workshop #1: “The Evolving Workforce and the Rise of the On-Demand Economy”

Synopsis: The acceleration of the “on-demand” economy – companies providing instant services as diverse as car sharing, food delivery and beauty services – has intensified discussions about employee classification. This workshop will analyze the different types of workers that could exist in your business, and best practices and considerations for processing payment.
Workshop #2: “Compliance vs. Culture: Understanding Global Labor Laws Against Employee Compensation Policies”

Synopsis: More businesses are establishing time off policies, including “unlimited” vacation policies. This workshop will discuss why wage theft has become a billion-dollar liability for businesses, specific labor laws, and best practices on how payroll can balance accuracy and profitability with employee retention and morale.
The APA Congress brings together workshops, networking opportunities and recertification credits to people in payroll, accounts payable and finance. Our workshops are eligible for recertification credit hours, continuing education units and HR Certification Institute (HRCI) credits.
