Introduction
Welcome to an overview of our new RepliConnect API.

Many of you are Replicon customers and are familiar with who we are as a company but for those who are not, I want to spend just brief moment introducing our company. Replicon delivers incredibly easy to use, web-based time and expense management software.

We were founded in 1996 and there are more than 1.5 million people across 7,300 companies using Replicon today, in more than 70 countries around the world.

And what really sets us apart is our dedication to delivering the most hassle-free experience possible for our customers. It’s resulted in a nearly 95% customer retention rate annually--very strong in the software industry and a true indication of customer satisfaction.

From trying it online before you buy, to deploying it, updating it, supporting it, and now, easily creating integrations to other applications with our new RepliConnect API.

A Common Challenge
Integrations are incredibly important to many customers. We heard from our customers they were often facing very similar challenges. Most companies use a variety of different software systems and often times you need the same data you have in one system, in another system. A lot of companies spend too much time either manually transferring the data line by line or exporting with clumsy CSV files and re-importing into a different application. This is a really inefficient way of doing things and it can lead to many errors; missed records, out of date information and general data entry errors.

The Solution – RepliConnect API
RepliConnect API makes those integrations possible and much easier than ever before. It’s a free, powerful new way to easily create deep integrations between Web TimeSheet and your other key software systems. It’s really a huge leap forward in our API offering and it allows for robust, efficient integrations between Web TimeSheet and any open third-party application, including payroll, billing, portfolio and project management systems.

The most seamless way of accomplishing these exchanges is through the use of an API. API stands for Application Programming Interface.

This allows one application to talk to another application without the need for users to log in and key in actual data. It’s done via web service calls in a seamless way.

The RepliConnect API uses a JSON based web-service architecture that is simple and easy to use.

The restful nature of the RepliConnect API ensures scalability for large scale interaction from multiple customers.

The RepliConnect API can be used to integrate time data in several ways:

• Exporting time to payroll systems with overtime allocations for paycheck generation.
• Updating leave balances from outsourced exception time tracking systems.
• Creating customized external reporting with non-standard formatting.
• Exporting and flagging time entries sent to billing and accounting systems.
• Automatically creating users imported from HRIS systems, so that user creation can happen once and not many times across your organizations' systems.
• And synching projects from a portfolio management product and then taking time entries back to complete project costing calculations.

These are just a few common examples, but there are many other ways companies can use RepliConnect API.

RepliConnect API Example
A great example that showcases the types of integrations possible with the RepliConnect API is our QBI QuickBooks Integration. You can see here that time entries are entered into Web TimeSheet in our SaaS environment.

Once actuals are captured in Web TimeSheet, interfaces like the one here can use the RepliConnect API to extract data for transfer the QuickBooks.

The transfer will happen seamlessly in the background, but constant feedback and return codes built into the RepliConnect API allow programmers to provide rich feedback in their applications for end users to review and take educated actions in workflows between systems.

The finished product in this example is an invoice created in an external application without the need for re-entry or the annoying import/export of flat files. This is just one example of the power behind the new RepliConnect API and its capabilities.

Summary of Benefits
Just like the QuickBooks, since it is an open API you can connect with literally thousands of other applications--everything from Ceridian to PeopleSoft to ADP. Any applications that have open API’s can communicate with RepliConnect and pass data back and forth, giving you all of the benefits we touched on earlier.

Hopefully you have a more clear understanding of what RepliConnect can do to increase efficiency at your company and give you the visibility you need across your software solutions.
