Version 7.2


Welcome to Version 7.2 of Web TimeSheet. These release notes provide information on the new features and enhancements that have been included in Version 7.1, as well as known issues that have been fixed in this release.

New in Version 7.2

The following new features are available in Version 7.1 of Web TimeSheet:

  • Implementation Interview
    This simple interview guides you through the implementation of Web TimeSheet. Once you have completed the interview, Web TimeSheet will provide you with a set of implementation instructions customized for your system.
  • Guided Setup
    This feature gives users tips for configuring each module of Web TimeSheet, as well as the suggested order for completing configuration tasks.
  • New dynamic reports
    New dynamic versions of nearly all of the original Classic reports have been added. Classic reports are, however, still available for all users who have upgraded from earlier versions of Web TimeSheet. (51614, 51657, 53361, 52768, 52994)
  • Simplified dynamic report filters
    Dynamic report filters have been simplified. The filters that are available and that are enabled by default are better tailored to the report being generated. In addition, user defined fields are now available for use as filters on the reports to which they apply. (51633, 43328)
  • Ability to e-mail and create PDF versions of dynamic text reports
    Users can now e-mail dynamic text reports to their external or internal address, or to other user-specified addresses. Plus, users can now create PDF versions of text reports.
  • Improved timesheet interface
    Comments boxes now display around the selected time entry cell in Standard timesheets. In their maximized state, they display a field for entering comments, and any timesheet hours-level user defined fields. Plus, timesheet rows can now be sorted alphabetically and, in Standard timesheets, columns can be resized. In addition, all visible fields are now searchable and time entry cells can be navigated using the keyboards Tab key and arrows.
  • Ability to upload, view, and delete expense receipt images
    Users can now upload expense receipt images into Web TimeSheet for viewing.
  • Improved menu interface
    The look and feel of all menus has been improved, and the Admin menu has been reorganized.
  • Improved installation process
    Microsoft SQL Server Express is now installed as Web TimeSheet's default database type. Plus, users can now elect to install new versions of Web TimeSheet using existing, blank SQL Server, MSDE, or SQL Express databases. (52273)

Fixed in Version 7.2

The following issues are fixed in Version 7.2 of Web TimeSheet:

Installation
  • Certain issues that prevented successful upgrade and migration of Web TimeSheet are resolved. (52266, 52468, 52470, 52979, 52209, 52328, 51693)
  • Issue that caused Select Source Database Type installation window to display even if an existing installation of Web TimeSheet existed is fixed. (50258)
  • Certain issues that prevented installation of Web TimeSheet when using IIS are resolved. (52664, 53718, 53415)
Admin
  • Issue that caused an exception error to occur in the expense approvals overdue e-mail notification message log is fixed. (53219)
  • Issue that occurred when required User-type user defined fields were defined that prevented the user from adding fewer than 10 employees via Quick Add is fixed. (49288)
  • Issue that prevented the correct filtering of Project/Task-type user defined field default values that include decimals is fixed. (50504)
  • Issue that caused an error to occur when users attempted to delete a parent department from the Departments list on the List Departments page is fixed. (50424)
  • Users without permission to edit departments can no longer select and drag departments to a new department location on the List Departments page. (52166)
  • Issue that caused a runtime error to occur in the Client/External Approver drop-down when using the pop-up list style is fixed. (52746)
  • Client representatives who were upgraded to External Users upon migration from Web TimeSheet 6.7 (or earlier) now retain their ProMax seat assignment. (52475)
  • Issue that prevented user defined fields from appearing as filter search criteria on the List Users page after migration from Web TimeSheet 6.7 is fixed. (52380)
  • Disclaimer title and description are no longer required fields. The user may now delete the disclaimer, if they do not want to use it. (52136)
  • Issue that caused company names, when migrated, to be converted to Department is fixed. (52857)
  • Issue with Oracle that caused errors to occur when accessing the Historical Expenses page is fixed. (53865)
  • Issue that prevented the disabling of existing users when adding new users to a full Web TimeSheet license is resolved. If a new user was added and enabled, a message displayed indicating that too many users were on the license. Now, users are informed that the license is full before they add a new user. (53145)
  • Either standard users or external users may now act as client/external approvers. (53045)
Projects
  • Projects on the List Projects page can now be sorted alphabetically by client name (by clicking on the Client(s) heading). (52932)
  • Issue that caused an error to occur when saving changes to department visibility with hierarchy filtering enabled is fixed. (51663)
  • Issue that allowed external users to be added to project teams using the Project Team Add field of the import engine is fixed. (52310)
  • Company (not Department) now displays consistently as the top-level department in all areas of Web TimeSheet. (52243, 52203)
  • Team Member Task Assignments permissions now refresh as expected when a new project team member is selected on the Manage Team Member page. (51882)
  • When mass editing projects, the user can no longer uncheck all departments assigned to them from the Visible to Departments list. When the user attempts to save the page, a message now displays stating that at least on department must be selected. (51827, 52164)
Timesheet and Expenses
  • Issue that caused hours and number of timesheets data for submitted and approved timesheets to be doubled in the Timesheet Status graphical report is fixed. (52595)
  • Issue involving the Project/Task drop-down in timesheets that prevented the allowed number of options and the Get More option from appearing is fixed. (50962)
  • Issue that prevented all users with approved timesheets from showing in the Timesheet Approval History User drop-down list is fixed. (51220)
  • Issue that caused a runtime error to occur when selecting from the Client drop-down menu on an Offline timesheet is fixed. (47662)
  • Issue that caused the top menu of the timesheet page to jump is fixed. (51752)
  • After migration, any seat assignments for External Users related to Expenses or Offline Expenses are now removed. This change addresses an issue that caused a discrepancy between the number of assigned seats and the number of assigned users after migration. (52483)
Approvals
  • Issue that caused Internet Explorer to crash when the user accessed Approvals from the top menu after selecting links from the Waiting for Approval list is fixed. (47483)
  • Issue that caused incorrect time off requests to appear in the Waiting Time Off Request Approvals list is fixed. (53551)
  • Oracle-specific issue that caused a server error to occur on the Timesheet page when the user logged in as an approver is fixed. (52997)
  • Issue that caused the default approval path to display as code on the Approval Paths page is fixed. This occurred when the list of approval paths was split out into multiple pages and the page in view did not contain the default approval path. (50049)
Reports
  • Issue involving the users included in the License Seat Assignment dynamic report is fixed with the addition of new, expanded filters. (52135)
  • The Expense Type Code is now available for use on all relevant reports. (52371)
  • Issue involving Unicode output that prevented Hebrew and Polish characters from exporting to PDF correctly is fixed. Web TimeSheet 7.2s dynamic report PDF output supports Unicode characters. (44083, 48202)
  • Issue that caused incorrect indentation in PDF Classic reports is fixed. (47862)
  • Issue that caused an error when a PDF version of the User Detail report was generated is fixed. This issue only affected reports that returned 500 or more rows of data from the database. (53539)
  • Fixed issue involving filters that allowed external users to see information for all projects, not just those to which the external user was associated, on certain dynamic reports. (51655)
  • The drop-downs associated with the Compare Period filters Month and Quarter options now display on the Yearly Time Comparison report. (52744)
  • Issue in demo version of Web TimeSheet that caused incorrect data to be generated in the User Profile dynamic report when all Settings options are selected is fixed. (52529)
  • Issue in Oracle that caused a runtime error to occur when there were more than 1000 items selected from a multiple select filter is fixed. (52750)
  • Issue that caused a runtime error to occur when the user attempted to add a report folder is fixed. (52738, 53039)
  • Issue that caused a runtime error to occur when the user closed a Classic report PDF, then selected any one of the report buttons, is fixed. (52854)
  • Issue that caused tasks without associated projects to appear in the Project/Task Progress report is fixed. (50733)
  • Issue that caused an overflow error to occur when generating Billing Summary dynamic report is fixed. (52999)
  • Fixed issue that caused an error when first a report folder, then a new report were created, and then the report, then the folder were deleted. (53543)
  • The Yearly Time Comparison report no longer displays an inverted graph when a no data message should be displayed. (51829)
  • Start Date and End Date selection fields are now correctly aligned in all dynamic reports (51638)
  • A <None> option is now available in the User Group dynamic report filter (now part of the User multiple filter), so users can filter those employees who do not belong to a user group. (53302, 51885)
  • Fixed issue that caused expense data to display on certain dynamic reports even when no Expense module license key had been entered into Web TimeSheet. (52316, 52208)
  • Users can now view the original timesheets referenced in Timesheet Status Details report by selecting links within that report. The selected timesheets are displayed as a Timesheet List report. (52171)
  • Issue that caused generation of the TimeSheet Billing dynamic report to freeze (without stopping service) for an external user using a large database is fixed. (52908)
  • Task Code is now an optional field in dynamic reports. (53366)
  • Issue that caused different values for both regular and overtime hours to display in the User Hours Details and Timesheet Hours Summary dynamic report is fixed. (51597)
  • Fixed issue that caused hours entered by users belonging to multiple user groups to be summed multiple times on the Timesheet Hours Details dynamic report. (52663)
  • Issue that caused a runtime error to occur when a user ran the Project Team dynamic report, and then returned to the Select a Report page is fixed. (51804)
  • Issue that prevented users from retaining derived public reports when the associated parent report was deleted is fixed. (52516)
  • Issue that prevented dynamic reports from being generated when data was entered in the Submitted On filters is fixed. (53087)
  • Issue that caused a Security Information warning dialog box to display when generating dynamic reports containing graphs is fixed. (52853)
  • Values for Billable Hrs and Non-Billable Hrs are no longer reversed on the Timesheet Hours Details report. (52213)
  • Issue that caused a runtime error to occur when a specific employee was selected from the User Name drop-down in Classic Reports is fixed. This issue only occurred if the User list style was set to Pop-up window (in System Preferences). (52764, 52771)
  • Issue in Oracle that resulted in an error when the Task Status Summary dynamic report was generated is fixed. (52393)
  • Issue that caused incorrect data (rather than no data) to display when Last Timesheet Period was selected in certain dynamic reports is fixed. These reports contained only current timesheet data, and should therefore have displayed no data, but instead they displayed the current data. (52747)
  • Project and Task user defined fields now display in reports, as expected. (52093)
  • Issue that caused erroneous Head Count values to display in the Organizational Hierarchy report is fixed. (52741)
  • All dynamic reports now take the users organizational hierarchy settings into account when filtering report data. (53665)
Miscellaneous
  • Certain issues involving Web TimeSheet performance have been addressed. (52038, 52990, 43165, 48299, 51826, 48259, 44893)
