Upgrade Instructions
Upgrading to Web Resource 2.6
If you would like to discuss how to configure Web Resource, please contact your
support representative at support@replicon.com.
Before attempting an upgrade it is very important to make sure your maintenance
program is current. If your maintenance agreement has expired performing an
upgrade may leave your application in an unusable state.
To ensure a successful and safe upgrade, perform the following steps in order:
- Check that your Maintenance Program is current.
- Login to Web Resource as an administrator
- Click the Administration menu item.
- Click on Licensing in the menu.
- Look at the row called Maintenance Agreement Expiry for Web Resource.
- Ensure that the maintenance period has not expired.
- Download the latest build of Web Resource using the following URL:
http://download1.replicon.com/products/wr/release/2.6/wr26.exe
- Create a backup of your existing database before beginning the upgrade process.
For information on backing up your database, consult the documentation provided
with your database platform. Additionally, it is recommended that you implement
the upgrade in a test environment first.
- Close Web Resource.
- Launch the exe file that you just downloaded.
- Choose "Maintain or Update the instance of this application" as the type of Setup.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
