Award recipients in the nine categories will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year Prairies Banquet on September 25. These award recipients will compete for the title of Prairies Entrepreneur Of The Year. That award recipient will advance to the national level to compete with counterparts from the Pacific, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic regions for the title of Canada's Entrepreneur Of The Year. In Spring 2002, Canada's Entrepreneur Of The Year recipient will participate in the competition for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year.

A panel of independent judges selected the Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists.
