800-GOT-JUNK? has grown from one location in Vancouver to over 250

The Challenge
Previously, the head office at 1-800-GOT-JUNK? relied on one person to
manually administer time off requests, accruals and balances on excel
spreadsheets and paper-based systems. However, as the company continued to
grow, the maintenance of time off requests and balances had become too labour intensive
and prone to inaccuracies.
“We needed a system where employees could see their own vacation balances
themselves, rather than always having to ask the payroll department or their
manager.” explained Harpreet Sandhu, Payroll and Benefits Administrator for 1-
800-GOT-JUNK? in Vancouver, British Columbia. “Our system was not efficient
before; we had one person looking after so many people's vacations.”
The Solution
